Swapan Kumar Mallick is a Kolkata-based artist and an
Assistant Professor of Painting at the Indian College of Arts &
Draftsmanship, Kolkata. His solo exhibitions are
“Cerebral Procreation: Conjugating
Binaries; Dissecting Time” and “The Wreckage: decoding essence, delineating ethos, dissecting innocence” at the
Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata in 2006 and 2010 respectively. The notable curatorial
shows are “Social & Political Injustice in Contemporary Art”, “Indian
Surrealism”. He has got Birla
Academy Award in 2006, the West Bengal Governor Award the Best Painting Award in the Annual Exhibition of the Academy of
fine Arts, Kolkata in 2003 and 2002
respectively.
